A studio beginning, together.

We are so excited to share this first look at Shakti. Our website is now live in soft launch as we get ready to open our doors and welcome you into our new space.

Our full class schedule is coming soon and will be added once our booking system is in place. In the meantime, you can explore our story, meet the team, browse class styles, and get to know the heart of the studio before we open.

We will be fully launching in a few weeks, and we cannot wait to grow this next chapter with our community. Check back soon for class bookings, updates, new ways to practice with us, special founding member packages, and pre-launch offers.

Shakti Yoga is a teacher-owned, community-focused studio where inclusivity and connection guide everything we do. We offer accessible, authentic, and welcoming in-person and livestream classes including vinyasa, Jivamukti, restorative, and meditation.

Rooted in inclusivity and genuine connection, our dedicated teachers welcome everyone to practice, belong, and grow together.

  • “ I am so grateful for Shakti Studio and Angela. The studio literally transformed my practice. In the past, yoga was a place to just push oneself into the proper poses. Through Shakti I have learned to focus on the essence of yoga which is mindful movement and self acceptance. This studio got me through the pandemic with my sanity intact.”

  • “Andrea is a dedicated teacher who I trust to offer excellent instruction. She cares deeply for yoga students and the practice of yoga.”

  • “No matter how my day is going, whether I’m feeling frazzled or energized, the one hour I set aside for my yoga class is non-negotiable. Angela’s insistence on respecting your body and not letting your ego dictate how you ‘should’ be doing a pose has allowed me to continue doing yoga for many years, with and through various injuries and chronic conditions. While she doesn’t take herself too seriously, Angela is devoted and highly knowledgeable, always providing not only lighthearted moments but also thoughtful insights to take off the mat into life. I honestly don’t know how I would have survived the pandemic without Shakti Studio and its warmhearted community.”

    - Keren Penny, Long-time student of Angela and Shakti student

  • “Angela has been my yoga teacher for many years and practicing with her is physically, emotionally and mentally rewarding. She is generous with herself and available when I need a help or special care. I am blessed to have her on my path. May Shakti continue its beautiful work.”

    - Sylvie Lebrun, Shakti student since 2020

  • “Shakti is a community of heartwarming people practicing yoga together. A lovely atmosphere, a present for one's practice.”

    - Maxime Laliberté, Shakti student since 2020

OUR CLASSES

New to Shakti?

This is a great place to begin.

  • Start with any class marked as “grounded” (with the icon of the yogi sitting in sukhasana), which are very beginner-friendly; Restorative, Gentle Hatha, or Slow Flow are great options. All of our teachers offer posture modifications, and you’re welcome to move at your own pace.

  • Shakti is built and owned by its teachers. We are a small, dedicated team with a shared belief in yoga that is authentic, accessible, and community rooted. You can meet us on our Staff page and learn about our backgrounds, training, and teaching styles. We look forward to practising with you.

  • No. At Shakti, you do not need to be flexible to belong here.

Yoga with us is about presence, breath, and meeting yourself as you are today. Over time, your mobility, strength, and ease may grow, but there is no requirement to arrive already flexible.

  • Wear comfortable clothes you can move and breathe in, and bring a water bottle. If you have a yoga mat, bring it along. If not, we have a limited number of mats you can rent, and mats are also available for purchase in the studio.

  • Arriving about 10 to 15 minutes before class gives you time to check in, choose your spot, and gather props without feeling rushed. It’s a quiet moment to land, breathe, and transition from your day into practice.

  • Yes, and we encourage you to come. Please let your teacher know before class about anything that affects your movement or comfort. Our teachers are experienced in offering modifications and alternatives, and you are always welcome to rest, skip, or adapt any part of the practice. When in doubt, reach out to us before your first class and we will help you find the right fit.

OUR STORY

Shakti Yoga was founded by Angela in 2020 as a vibrant online community, offering connection and practice during uncertain times. Reborn in 2026, we’ve grown into a teacher-led studio driven by a shared vision of true community, owned and shaped by dedicated educators who pour their hearts into every class.

We are diverse teachers committed to authentic yoga, blending different styles with genuine care and down-to-earth guidance that honors the practice’s roots.

Our promise is simple: a welcoming space for every body, rooted in inclusivity, accessibility, and real connection where we can grow, belong, and move together.
