Studio Etiquette
In the spirit of supporting the practice of your fellow Shakti Yogis we ask that you follow a few guidelines to help make everyone’s time at the studio more fruitful.
Noise
Please be very mindful of noise. The studio doors are thin and when inside we can hear all the moving and talking that takes place in reception. A few specific things you can do to cut down on noise:
• Open the front door slowly and quietly when there is a class in progress.
• Move around with mindfulness: unzip your coat quietly, put your belongings down gently, open the change room door slowly.
• Limit chatting in the reception area when there is a class starting or ending in the studio.
Cell Phones
We are a cell phone free zone. Please step outside if you must use your mobile. Always turn off your ringer before class starts.
Scent Free Policy
Please respect those of us with sensitivities to scent by not wearing perfume or scented hair and body products to class.
Punctuality
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class (or 15 minutes if it’s your first time). If arriving late, please wait quietly until one of the teachers opens the studio doors for you. Latecomers will not be permitted to enter a class until after the beginning relaxation is complete. Most often, the main door will be locked at the class start time. In that case, late entry will not be possible.
Outdoor Shoes
Please remove outdoor shoes when you enter the studio. This helps us keep the space clean and barefoot-friendly for everyone.
Studio Props
If using studio props such as blankets, blocks, and straps please return them to the shelves in the way that you found them. Blankets should be folded properly so they are ready for the next person to use. If you have rented a yoga mat please spray and wipe the mat and then return it to the mat box.
